Elina Skripochnik PT, DPT, CSCS is a Physical Therapist specializing in Women's Health and Pediatrics. A New York City resident, Elina received her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from New York University. Elina is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

I grew up in a very active household with a brother I had to keep up with. Our parents enrolled us in karate, tennis, swimming, dance, etc... I ended up sticking with ballroom dancing, and participated in professional competitions for several years.  Being active was always encouraged in my family, especially since they grew up in Russia on farmland where they had the space and ability to be outside and engaged in physical activities all day.

I chose to go into Physical Therapy because I always had an affinity for connecting with people, and I wanted a career that would allow me to be active, while being able to help others. While pursuing my degree at New York University, I always knew I wanted to go into pediatrics, but what I also found myself drawn to was Women's Health. I ended up presenting several inservices regarding pregnancy and how to safely stay active during pregnancy. Once I received my DPT from NYU, I began working in pediatrics. I have worked in various settings such as Preschools, Early Intervention, and Outpatient care. Although I was done with school, I took continuing education courses in pediatrics and women's health in order to better my understanding, as well as my ability to help others know how to safely stay active, or become active.

Currently, I provide services for pregnant women who wish to become active during their pregnancy, or who wish to stay active during their pregnancy. I wish to educate women on the importance of being active during pregnancy, and help them become active through safe and easy methods that can be done in group settings, at home, or with my private help. Exercise during pregnancy is recommended and encouraged because it is not only good for you and your baby, but it can also help with the birthing process, and so that after pregnancy you will be able to continue exercising, stay active, and keep up with your growing child.

I also provide services for the pediatric population, ranging from newborn to school age children. Your child does not necessarily need to have a physical or developmental delay to benefit from exercise and extra activity. Children have milestones that they achieve as they grow, especially during the first few years. It is important that you know what these milestones are and how you can facilitate your child in reaching those milestones. I aim to help parents connect with their babies through activities that are both informative, and fun.
